Safety

Safety is the first decision on every flight — before schedule, before load, before anything else. If it isn’t right, we don’t go.

First, before schedule or load

Every Northcoast flight starts with the same question: is this safe to fly? Not whether it fits the schedule, and not whether the load needs to move. Safety comes first, and everything else — timing, loads, plans for the day — comes after it.

Experienced pilots, real mountain time

Our pilots have real time in the mountains, flying this country year-round, and they train through Northcoast’s own BC Mountain Course. Mountain flying is learned in the mountains — in the weather, the terrain and the confined spots this work demands — and that experience is in the seat on every flight.

Weather called honestly

Weather and conditions are judged as they are, not as the schedule needs them to be. Any Northcoast pilot can call a flight off — no argument and no pressure to go. The job can wait for better weather. A flight that shouldn’t leave doesn’t.

Machines maintained, country known

Our aircraft are maintained to standard for the work they do. And we fly country we know: the Skeena, the Nass and the north coast — its weather, its terrain and its landing spots. Out here, local knowledge isn’t a bonus. It’s part of flying safely.

One standard on every flight — exploration, fire, heli-skiing, survey, search & rescue support or scenic tour. No exceptions.

Pilots

The people at the controls — and the ones coming up behind them.
